HR Manager

Position Description

Chaos Lab's mission is to secure the future of finance. We’re looking for an HR & Ops Manager to help us build our team and lead People Operations across Tel Aviv and NYC.

At Chaos Labs, we’re developing a cloud security platform for DeFi (Decentralized Finance) protocols through run-time simulations. We work with protocols to automate economic security, risk management, parameter selection optimization, and battle test protocols through the most chaotic (🤗) market conditions. Our platform and tools are used by leading protocols, helping them manage and secure over 50 Billion in assets.

Chaos Labs was founded by ex-Facebook, Apple, Instagram, Amazon, and Microsoft engineers, being 8200 (Israeli Cyber Intelligence) and Technion alumni. We’re looking for curious, hungry engineers to join the team and help define the security and risk stack of the future.

Responsibilities:

  • This is a generalized HR role that will be tailored to the candidate selected to fill it. As the first HR hire, we are expecting the day-to-day to revolve around both People Operations and Recruiting.
  • Responsibilities - People operations:

  • Create and manage employee onboarding and offboarding procedures and processes to ensure new team members get up to speed rapidly
  • Assist with HR analytics, conduct and analyze onboarding surveys, and HR processes to make actionable recommendations to improve processes based on data
  • Design and develop training materials and internal wikis for employees, managers, and new hires
  • Partner with leadership and people managers to ensure that the appropriate systems and processes are in place for employee happiness (some examples Semi-annual review and feedback processes, 1:1 templates and products, Compensation guidelines)
  • Ensure legal compliance in all relevant areas
  • Research and select new tooling for streamlined employee engagement with HR functions
  • Participate in (if not lead) workforce and org chart planning sessions to help guide team expansion
  • Influence and coach managers on organizational design, job titles and leveling, team member engagement, recognition, retention strategies, performance management, and development plans
  • Take leadership role regarding employee wellness, benefits, and other tools to ensure employee retention
  • Responsibilities - Recruiting:

  • Work closely with management to define a holistic hiring thesis for the company that includes cultural values and hiring manager expectations to ensure: (1) Every candidate has an amazing interview experience with Chaos Labs (2) We maintain a rigorous talent bar for new hires to continue pushing the company forward
  • Partner with hiring managers to advise on the end-to-end recruiting process, including: Standardizing JD template and providing feedback to managers on new drafts; Help design interview structure and take home assignments for standardization and efficiency; Coordinate a candidate’s interview process to ensure a seamless candidate experience; Advising on appropriate compensation levels for potential candidates based on internal and market guidelines; Drafting of offer materials
  • Help maintain and optimize the internal Applicant Tracking System (Lever) and onboard managers into the tool to recruit for new roles
  • Develop new sourcing channels & strategies to ensure we introduce Chaos Labs to the top talent in Israel
  • Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in HR-related roles with prior proof points of project & process ownership
  • History of 0-1 process and program creation where you find problems and solve them with minimal oversight
  • Previously managed other people through tough, interpersonal situations
  • Deep care for your fellow employees with a desire to set them up for success at all levels of the company
  • An understanding of world-class end-to-end recruiting processes and how they can be built from the ground up
  • Demonstrated experience (& excitement for) working in self-managed, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to explain complex topics in a clear way to both crypto-native and novice audiences.
