We were early to large language models, shipping them in production starting with Google’s BERT and rebuilt our stack as GPT-2 and GPT-3 landed. At the time, model routers and AI optimization tools did not exist, so we built our own infrastructure to evaluate models and route work appropriately between them.
This internal stack evolved into Cortex, which we first deployed across Chaos Labs before spinning it out.
