Research Manager

Chaos Labs is the first automated, on-chain economic security system enabling crypto protocols to optimize risk management and capital efficiency while protecting user funds. We use world-class custom EVM simulations to understand protocol mechanics and scenario implications.

Leading protocols use our platform and tools, helping them manage and secure billions of dollars in assets, including Aave, dYdX, GMX, Benqi, Uniswap, and more.

Responsibilities

• Grow and manage the research team - coach and mentor direct reports to reach personal and company goals.
• Lead development of risk and financial models, data analysis, and implementation of the risk research papers and methodologies into Chaos’ products.
• Stay current with industry developments and integrate the latest research methodologies into our framework.
• Engage with protocols such as Aave, GMX, dYdX, Benqi, and Uniswap.
• Contribute to white papers, publications, and industry conferences across domains such as mechanism design, game theory, incentive design, financial risk, blockchain security, etc.
• Work closely with Growth, Product, and Engineering teams to break down complex projects into tangible milestones.

• 5+ years of professional experience in Research - required
• 2+ years of professional experience leading research teams focusing on blockchain technology. - required.
• A deep understanding of finance-based data science - is required.
• Understanding of DeFi, blockchain systems, and crypto markets.
• Hands-on experience with Python and relevant data science packages.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
